Hey there...as you probably didn't notice I haven't been blogging since the Manny trade...I wasn't happy with it, and was in a little funk afterwards...don't get me wrong, I still love the Sox...I haven't missed a night of the season and am watching Masterson try to get out of trouble here in the 7th of game 2 in the ALDS...but the blog was lost for the season. I kept thinking about a Manny piece that would allow me to move on and get back to business, but I couldn't write it. Maybe someday I will, but for now I'll rely on an old stalwart...here's Simmons' piece on the Manny trade. It's pretty much the position I've held all along and if you know me than you know this is true...if you don't, believe it...thanks to Mr. Simmons for having the job and the motivation to write it...

Selfishly, this is my place to root, rant and rave for the Boston Red Sox...we live and die with them out here and sometimes you can only vent by smashing keyboard keys ('cause no one want to f-ing hear it, especially not now)...I'll try to keep the profanity to a minimum for the G-rated crowd, and other than that, enjoy!

- Pedro Martinez - he gave us hope...there was nothing like the excitement of a Pedro start at Fenway in his prime...

I read his piece last night around 2 am when I woke up and got bored with the debate after 10 minutes of watching. I immediately thought of you, of course!! Nobody puts it together like SG (though I know your version would've been awesome as well!!)
